Venue information

The Convention and Exhibition Center (COEX), located in a vibrant business district of Seoul, is the venue for ICEC 22- ICMC 2008. The COEX has 3 exhibition and 5 convention halls including a 1,099-seat auditorium and a number of meeting rooms. It also features multilingual simultaneous translation facilities, audio-visual equipment, lighting and sound systems. Deluxe hotel (COEX Inter-Continental Seoul) is within a 2-5 minute walking distance, while a number of other hotels can be reached within 10 minutes by bus or subway from the venue. Buses will be provided for the participants to and from the hotels. The venue also has easy subway access, and taxis and buses are readily available. Furthermore, the Korea City Air Terminal, conveniently located within the complex, offers a non-stop limousine bus service to and from Incheon International Airport. In addition to the state-of-the-art facilities and accommodations, the Congress venue has a post office, banking services, and automated teller machines.

Transportation

1. From Incheon International Airport

To get to the congress area, COEX & Hotels, there are several ways but we recommend you to take the KCAT Limousine bus and KAL Limousine bus.

1) KCAT Limousine bus

KCAT stands for Korea City Air Terminal. KCAT Limousine goes between Incheon International Airport and Korea City Air Terminal that is located just 5 minutes walk distance to COEX Convention Center. This bus goes directly to the Korea City Air Terminal nearby COEX and leaves every 5 ~10 minutes (Bus Stop 4A and 10 B). One way ticket costs \14,000 (US $14). From KCAT, IBIS Hotel & CO - OP Residence are 10 minutes away on foot. It may take 5 minute by taxi and costs less than KRW 3,000.

2) KAL Limousine bus

This bus leaves every 30 minutes (Bus stop is 4B and 11A) and it takes about 90 minutes to the COEX Convention Center. Please take Line 3 (to Gangnam Area) and it will stop at COEX Intercontinental Hotel, which is close to the COEX Convention Center. One way ticket costs \14,000 (US $14). Additionally, it will pass through Prima Hotel and Hotel Rivera on the way to COEX Intercontinental.

3) TAXI

The average taxi fare from the Incheon International Airport to the venue is about \55,000 ~ 65,000 (US $52 ~ 62) for a standard taxi and \ 75,000 ~ 85,000 (US $72 ~ 81) for a deluxe taxi (black car with yellow cap) but it may cost more depending on the traffic situation during the rush hours. Please note that there is additional charge of 20 % from midnight to 4 a.m.

2. From Kimpo Airport

To get to the congress area, COEX & Hotels, there are several ways but we recommend you to take the KAL Limousine or subway. KAL Limousine bus is the most convenient way to travel from the Kimpo International Airport to the congress venue. This spacious 25 - seat luxury bus is equipped with public telephone, and stops at 17 major deluxe hotels in Seoul.

1) KCAT Limousine bus

This bus( #600) leaves every 30 minutes (Bus stop is 6) and it takes about 40 ~ 50 minutes to the COEX Convention Center. One way ticket costs \6,000 (US $6). It departs from Gimpo International Airport and arrives at Korea City Air Terminal.

2) Subway

Take the subway line number 5 at Gimpo Int'l Airport Station and transfer to line 2 at Yeongdeungpo-gu Office Station. Please, get off at Samsung Station, follow the direction of the map to the COEX venue.

3) TAXI
